Producer Jerry Bruckheimer has shed new light on the Pirates of the Caribbean film that was set to star Margot Robbie but was later reportedly abandoned by Disney. Bruckheimer told Collider that the script for that movie wasn’t thrown away entirely.
“I think that that script will come forward at a certain point,” he explained.
Writers were working on the Robbie Pirates of the Caribbean movie at the same time as another film, written by Chernobyl’s Craig Mazin. The Mazin project is happening first, Bruckheimer said.
“We developed two different stories for Pirates and the other one’s going forward first, so that’s what we’re working on, to try to get that one made,” he explained.
Robbie told Vanity Fair that her Pirates movie was in the works “ages ago” and that calling it “female-led” isn’t exactly right.

A Minecraft movie is now in production starring Danielle Brooks, Jack Black, Jason Momoa, Jennifer Coolidge, and Kate McKinnon. We still don’t know much about it, but Brooks has now shared some insight into what fans can expect.

Discord is exploring its options for a sale that could be worth more than $10 billion, VentureBeat has reported, and it appears that deal could be completed quite soon. Additional sources quoted by Bloomberg say that Microsoft is one of the companies involved in talks to acquire Discord. According to the Wall Street Journal, it may even complete a deal next month.
Sources quoted by VentureBeat claim that the potential sale comes due to interest expressed by multiple parties. One person claims that Discord is in final negotiations with one party, having signed an exclusive acquisition discussion. A Bloomberg source said that Discord reached out to Microsoft to gauge interest, with Xbox head Phil Spencer involved in talks with the gaming chat company.

Netflix and Sony Pictures are co-producing a new Ghostbusters animated series. According to Variety, the series will be executive produced by Ghostbusters: Afterlife’s Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan, with Reitman also directing.
All other details about the untitled Ghostbusters animated series are still not yet known, though it is being speculated that Reitman and Kenan will not be writing the series. If the project makes it to an official series order, it would be the third animated series of the franchise following ABC’s The Real Ghosbusters in the ’80s and Extreme Ghostbusters in 1997.
