Upcoming expansion for Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino and Hotel

In the American state of North Carolina and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians has announced that it is to spend up to $275 million so as to significantly expand its Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino and Hotel development.

The federally-recognized tribe used a Monday report in its Cherokee One Feather newspaper to detail that the upcoming project will add about 315,158 sq ft to the existing Cherokee County facility encompassing an expanded casino, a new hotel tower with a rooftop restaurant, a 1,700-spot parking deck and an indoor fitness center.

Evolving enterprise:

The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians revealed that it spent some $110 million seven years ago to construct its Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino and Hotel property before expending approximately $14 million in 2017 so as to add a ten-pin bowling alley, a full-service restaurant and a casino bar. The tribe detailed that the venue operated by Caesars Entertainment Incorporated now also hosts a sportsbook as well as a seven-story hotel with 300 rooms with the upcoming construction to be handled by Whiting-Turner Contracting Company.

Cautious consideration:

Lumpy Lambert serves as the General Manager for the 3.5-star Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino and Hotel facility and he explained that the tribe has been planning to expand his property since 2018 but could not begin construction until work to bring a fourth hotel tower and a convention center to its compatriot Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort facility was completed. The experienced figure stated that the upcoming project’s master plan was subsequently paused ‘for a year to 18 months or so’ as the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians developed and quantified ‘the amenities and the programming’.

Gambling gamut:

The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians divulged that the upcoming expansion will see its Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino and Hotel venue add a further 23,359 sq ft to its existing casino to host an additional array of 400 slots and twelve gaming tables. The tribe went on to reveal that this extra space is to be complemented by the premiere of an adjacent ten-table World Series of Poker-branded poker room, a refreshed bar and a motorcoach lobby.

Decided draw:

Adding to this allure and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians disclosed that this construction project is to bring a second hotel tower to its Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino and Hotel facility featuring 296 rooms alongside an indoor pool, a 9,600 sq ft fitness center and a 20,000 sq ft space for meetings, events and exhibitions. Lambert asserted that all of this will be joined by an expanded lobby and a valet-friendly hotel entrance although he described the facility’s coming 12,000 sq ft restaurant as ‘one of the most exciting additions’ offering breakfasts, lunches and dinners.

Lambert reportedly stated…

“One of the key things is the roof-top restaurant as we think this is going to be a huge draw. Because there’s no-one in Atlanta or no-one in the Chattanooga market that has that three-meal restaurant where you can basically have 250 indoor dining seats, 20 at a bar and 30 at a terrace setting overlooking some really fabulous views of mountain ranges.”
